Time Difference Paris ↔ Tokyo

Tokyo is 8 hours ahead of Paris in European winter and 7 hours ahead in European summer (Japan doesn't observe daylight saving). It's one of the largest gaps between Europe and Asia.

With standard office hours, the common window is narrow: roughly 9am-10am in Paris matches 5pm-6pm in Tokyo. Outside that brief morning slot in Paris (late afternoon in Tokyo), teams usually work asynchronously.

4
Customize if needed

Adjust sleep, meal and availability hours to match your team's real habits.

Frequently asked questions

How is the common time slot calculated?

The tool converts the current time into each selected time zone, then classifies every hour of the day as sleep, meal, available, or off-hours. The common slot is the set of hours where every city is available at the same time.

Does the tool account for daylight saving time?

Yes. Calculations use IANA time zone identifiers (for example Europe/Paris or America/New_York), which automatically apply each country's own daylight saving rules.

Can I customize my sleep and work hours?

Yes. In the “Customize the hours” section, you can adjust sleep, morning availability, lunch break, and afternoon availability. These settings apply in local time, the same way for every city you add.

How many cities can I compare at once?

You can compare between 2 and 4 cities at a time.

Is my data saved or shared?

No. All calculations run directly in your browser — no city or setting is sent to a server. The contact form is the only exception, and only if you choose to use it.

Is the tool free?

Yes, the tool is completely free and requires no sign-up.

What happens if there's no common slot?

If the cities you added have no overlapping available hours under the current settings, the tool lets you know and suggests removing a city or widening your custom hours.
